Once a hideout for pirates, Cozumel is one of Mexico’s crown jewels and popular Caribbean island with a rich and interesting history. In the early 1800’s the island served as a hideout for the infamous pirate Jean Lafitte who found it when running away from his pursuers. Cozumel remained uninhabited until 1847 until Spanish descendants settled on the island when fleeing away from conflicts taking place in the Yucatan Peninsula at that time.
The tour begins with pick up at your Playa del Carmen or Cancun hotel where a transport takes you to take the ferry to Cozumel. Once on the pier, you’ll begin the tour around the island. The first stop is the Tequila Hacienda for an intro to Tequila 101 where you’ll learn about this emblematic and delicious Mexican drink. Samples are included. You’ll drive along the coastline to El Mirador for photo opps and the most amazing views of the Caribbean Sea.
Next, we’ll head to the largest beach club, Playa Mia Grand Beach and Water Park for a relaxing day on the beach with all amenities are included including a kid’s mini water park with pools.
